Do you accept new patients?
Yes! With dental clinics at Kilsyth, Rowville and Forest Hill we are perfectly placed to care for you and your family’s dental needs. Simply book an appointment online or phone our friendly receptionists at the numbers below, to book an appointment:
Angel Dental Kilsyth: 03 9722 8979
Angel Dental Rowville: 03 9763 3249
Angel Dental Forest Hill: 03 9894 3088
What can I expect at my first visit?
Upon arrival you will be asked to fill in a form detailing your medical history, in order for our dentist to be aware of any pre-existing issues and health concerns. Your dentist will work with you to determine what treatment, if any, is required. During this time, any triggers to dental anxiety can be identified and reduced, so you can enjoy a comfortable experience.
What will it cost?
Nobody has the same mouth! Depending on health insurance rebates and the variety of treatments we offer, it’s difficult to estimate exactly how much treatment will cost you. However, our staff may be able to give you a ballpark figure for your initial examination appointment, which usually lasts between 30 and 45 minutes. Of course, after we have examined your teeth, any treatment and associated costs will be explained to you. We will also give you a printed treatment plan to take home.
Can I claim health benefits?
Yes! We accept all types of health insurance and can claim your benefit immediately through HICAPS, meaning you don’t have to pay and then claim through your health fund later. Yay!
Are you a preferred health fund provider?
Angel Dental Kilsyth, Rowville and Forest Hill are all preferred providers for HCF, Medibank Private and NIB, which means you have less out of pocket expense due to a greatly reduced co-payment (or gap). Patients at Angel Dental Kilsyth Clinic also enjoy HBA/BUPA preferred provider entitlements. We are happy to accommodate you at whatever clinic you choose.
If you are unhappy with the level of benefit being paid by your existing health insurance fund, please mention this to our staff during your appointment and we’ll be happy to recommend a more suitable alternative health insurer for your dental and other health care needs.
Do you treat children?
Of course! All our practices — Kilsyth, Rowville and Forest Hill — are family-friendly dental clinics. We offer out-of-hours appointment times for busy parents, and we pride ourselves in making children feel comfortable and safe, when visiting the dentist.
We offer gap-free dental on Medicare Kids under the Child Dental Benefit Schedule launched in January 2014, which means no out-of-pocket expenses for eligible children. Families claiming Family Tax Benefit have provision for diagnostic, preventative and restorative dental treatments to a total value of $1000 every 2 years. Your child could benefit from examinations, radiographs, cleaning, fissure sealing, white fillings, extractions and root canals until turning 18. If you’re uncertain of your child’s eligibility please call our friendly receptionists with your Medicare number and we will be happy to clarify for you.
When should my children start visiting the dentist?
Tooth decay in young children is increasingly common in Australia, so it’s important that you and your children understand good oral hygiene and develop good oral habits for life. We like to see children when all of their milk (baby) teeth are present — usually from 3 years old. However, any children with a dental injury or pain need to be seen sooner. We also recommend that children have dental check-ups every 6 months.
How often should I visit the dentist?
Regular dental check-ups are an essential part of good dental care. Even if you aren’t experiencing any problems, a thorough examination of your teeth, gums and mouth can detect any minor issues before they become big problems. Not only will this save you money in the long-term, but it will prevent extra time in the dentist’s chair! In order to keep your teeth in tip-top condition, we recommend regular check-ups every 6 months.
Do you perform cosmetic dentistry?
Yes! We perform a range of dental procedures including veneers, dental implants, tooth whitening, root canal, and dentures. Visit our Treatment page for further information.
Will I need a dental x-ray and are they safe?
Looking after your dental health involves more than just checking and cleaning what we can see! As good as we are, none of the dentists at Angel Dental have x-ray vision, and so we rely on dental x-rays to tell us what’s happening below the gum line, and in between your teeth. Dental x-rays can help us diagnose issues such as decay, infection around the tooth root, or even bone loss. Fortunately, these types of x-rays are now safe for everyone — even for pregnant women (although, we will only perform an x-ray during this time if absolutely necessary). Of course, we will discuss the need for x-rays with you, before taking them.
Can I get dentures from you?
Yes, you can! Usually these take between 3-4 weeks to construct. However, in some cases we may be able to speed up that process.
What if I need braces?
Our expert team of dentists can determine if there are any potential problems that may need orthodontic treatment, such as braces. While we don’t provide orthodontic treatment, we can refer you to a qualified orthodontist for follow-up and treatment. Further information on braces and orthodontic appliances can be found at Orthodontics Australia.
What if I have to cancel my appointment?
If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason, please ring our clinic as soon as possible. We often have other patients on a waiting list or patients requiring urgent treatment, which means we can offer them your appointment time.
How can I pay for my appointment?
We offer different payment methods in order to make our services accessible for everyone. We offer a full range of payment options including cash, cheque, EFTPOS, and major credit cards.
